THE BOOKS
From Personality to Process
These books begin with a familiar question: why does personality remain so persistent even when we understand it? From there, the inquiry moves beneath type into perception, organization, process, the nervous system, and finally the assumptions we bring to the Enneagram symbol itself.
Read individually, each book explores a distinct territory. Read together, they trace a movement from the structure of personality toward the deeper processes through which experience becomes organized, and transformation becomes possible.
BOOK I · THE INNER ARCHITECTURE TRILOGY
Why Study Personality?
Am I my Enneagram type?
Your type describes a recurring pattern of attention, perception, emotion, and behavior. Because these patterns become habitual, they eventually feel like identity. The deeper purpose of studying personality is learning to recognize the difference between having a pattern and being the pattern.
BOOK II · THE INNER ARCHITECTURE TRILOGY
The Alchemy of Perception
Do we perceive reality directly?
We assume the world appears and we simply see it. Yet perception is shaped by memory, expectation, attention, emotion, and identity. The deeper question is: How much of what I experience is actually present, and how much is being supplied by what I already believe, remember, expect, and fear?
BOOK III · THE INNER ARCHITECTURE TRILOGY
The Enneagram as Living Process
What is the Enneagram symbol mapping?
The Enneagram can be understood as more than nine personality types. The circle represents the field, the triangle represents three organizing forces, and the hexad represents lawful movement through time. Personality becomes one expression of this larger architecture, transforming the Enneagram from a map of people into a map of living process.
The Enneagram & The Arc of Transformation
What does transformation actually mean?
Psychological growth can make us healthier, more aware, compassionate, and flexible. Transformation points toward something deeper. Change modifies the organization of personality. Transformation changes our identification with that organization, shifting identity from personality toward the Being or awareness within which personality appears.
Enneagram Shock Points
Why can I understand my pattern and still keep repeating it?
Because personality is more than a story. Our patterns are also carried through emotional charge, bodily contraction, relational expectation, and nervous-system organization. Insight can change the story while the underlying organization continues repeating it. The shock points reveal where that deeper organization can actually begin to change.
The Enneagram Hexad
What keeps the psychological self feeling so continuous when everything in life keeps changing?
Because the self is continually being recreated through a stable pattern of relationships among perception, feeling, memory, expectation, possibility, and action. The hexad offers a way of seeing that organization in motion. What appears to be a fixed identity may be the ongoing result of a dynamic process that keeps returning experience to a familiar range of coherence.
